A Message from our Executive Director

Our story begins 25 years ago, with a gathering of foster parents in a local foster parent’s kitchen, where they shared ideas and resources to better support the children in their care. It made sense, then, that we called ourselves a foster parents association.

But, today, we are so much more than that. We’re a foster parent’s confidante. We’re a foster child’s mentor. We’re also an advocate and a teacher and a friend.

Above all, we’re a team of highly trained professionals, recognized leaders in our field, who promote the best practices for our clients and participate in far reaching child welfare initiatives. Through our work, we’re empowering lives. We’re guiding reform. We’re fostering futures.

And, for that reason, we changed our name in 2012 to better reflect who we are and what we do: We are Foster Forward.

As we embrace our next chapter, we also reaffirm our goal of promoting permanency for all children impacted by foster care. Because every child deserves a home to grow up in and an adult to rely on – one who’ll witness their achievements, guide their decisions, and keep them moving forward.

With your help, whether as a foster parent, mentor, or supporter, we’ll work tirelessly to make that happen. To witness the day when every foster child has a safe, healthy, and nurturing home for life. Because together, we can Foster Forward.

Best Regards,

Lisa Guillette
