Meet Our Summer Interns
This summer, Foster Forward welcomed three college interns who contributed to projects across the organization, bringing fresh ideas, creativity, and care to their work. Their efforts helped move important initiatives forward while giving them hands-on experience in how a mission-driven nonprofit operates.
We are grateful for their time, energy, and thoughtfulness, and we are proud to support the next generation of nonprofit and community leaders.
Henry
Education: Graduate of Johnson & Wales University, Product Design Engineering
Henry joined Foster Forward after graduating in May and was drawn to the organization’s nonprofit model and focus on doing good.
“I was interested in Foster Forward because of its non-profit business model. Being able to work in an environment that focuses on doing good meant a great deal to me.”
This summer, Henry worked primarily on graphic design projects, with a focus on materials for Foster Forward’s annual Gala fundraiser. His design skills helped bring key event elements to life while supporting one of our most important fundraising initiatives of the year.
Maggie
Education: Senior at College of Charleston, studying Psychology and Education
Maggie was inspired to intern with Foster Forward because of our commitment to empowering youth in foster care and supporting their transition to independence.
“I’ve always been passionate about social impact and equity, and Foster Forward’s approach to providing stability, resources, and a voice for foster youth really resonates with me.”
During her internship, Maggie worked closely with children and families at the Community Storefront, leading hands-on activities such as rock painting, journal making, and creating fidget toys to help manage stress. She also supported the development of the monthly youth newsletters, applying her background in psychology and education to youth-centered communication.
One highlight of the summer was Maggie leading a Calm and Crafty activity at the Storefront, where youth and families created fidget toys and calm-down jars to support mental wellness and self-regulation.
Hanaa
Education: Bryant University, Class of 2027
Digital Marketing major, Psychology minor
Hanaa was drawn to Foster Forward because of its strong sense of community and care.
“I was drawn to how community-focused and full of love Foster Forward is. I knew I wanted to be a part of it in some way.”
This summer, Hanaa designed social media content for the Youth Foster Forward Instagram account, helping share resources, events, and messages in a way that feels authentic and engaging for young people.
Looking Ahead
Our interns played a meaningful role in advancing Foster Forward’s work this summer, while gaining valuable experience in nonprofit operations, youth engagement, and mission-driven storytelling.
We are thankful for Henry, Maggie, and Hanaa, and we wish them continued success as they move forward in their academic and professional journeys.
